As
you may already know, it is not possible to spot reduce, meaning that you cannot
target to reduce fat in specific areas of the body. However there are things you
can do to combat weight gain and tone your abdominal muscles.
Since you are already spending
50-60 minutes a day doing aerobic exercises, my suggestion is to make sure you
are exercising at a high enough intensity. You should be breaking a sweat, and
your breathing should be heavier than usual, although you should still be able
to speak. A higher intensity will certainly help flatten your tummy.
What I believe will help you
most is a full-body, strength-training regime including abdominal exercises such
as crunches. Strength training will help build muscle which revs up your metabolism
and makes weight loss easier. It will also tone and firm your muscles giving you
a more trim appearance and make other daily tasks and chores easier.
