Exercise Intensity Scale

The exercise intensity scale is a measurement of how easy or difficult the exercise is. Use this scale to rate each exercise after you complete the second set of 8 repetitions. Ideally your strength training should feel hard, between 6-8, on a scale of 1 to 10. A rating of 1, or Very, Very, Light, represents something as simple as sitting or lifting a paper cup to take a drink of water. A rating of 10, or Very, Very, Hard, represents something so difficult that it could not be done, e.g. lifting a 100-lb. bag of cement.
