Dr. Mehmet Oz, cardiothoracic surgeon, and founder of the Center for Complementary Medicine at Columbia University delighted women with his unique blend of science and humor. Author of the best selling co- author, of You, the Owners Manual, Dr Oz is seen frequently on The Oprah Winfrey Show and the Discovery Channel. At the StrongWomen Lead Summit, women had the chance to hear directly from Dr. Oz how they could take steps today to stay healthy as they grew old gracefully.

Conference leader, Miriam Nelson, Ph.D., Founder, StrongWomen, LLuminari Expert, Director of John Hancock Center for Physical Activity and Nutrition, Tufts University - launched the Summit by sharing her vision of a world of strong, healthy women. Dr. Nelson has dedicated her life to this mission and encouraged other women to do the same by taking their knowledge back into their communities.

 

Gary Hirshberg, Chairman, President and CE-YO of Stonyfield Farm, the world's largest producer of organic yogurt, told “Tales from the Trenches”, stories of the early years at Stonyfield Farm and the importance of drive and determination in all aspects of your life. During his presentation, the group was able to watch a news story live featuring Stonyfield Farm on ABC Evening News concerning what constitutes “organic” food.
