Farm StrongWomen™ Thrive Summit will be an inspirational
celebration of life program centered on learning to live well once
your life has been touched by cancer. Whether or not you
are newly-diagnosed, a long-term survivor or someone who cares
for someone with cancer this conference will educate, encourage,
engage and enlighten you. The topics will cover advancements
in new therapies, and the complexities of living with the disease,
how it affects a woman’s life and her community. Susan
M. Love, MD, the breast cancer surgeon and researcher who brought
the fight against cancer to national attention and the author of
The Susan Love Breast Book will be featured. It will feature
entertaining forums presented by a variety of LLuminari experts,
who are dedicated to encouraging and inspiring women to make positive
changes in their lives.

Alice
D. Domar, Ph. D.
A leader on women and stress, infertility, and self-nurture, Dr. Domar is an
author, professor, and resource on women's health issues. A graduate of Concord
Academy and Colby College, Dr. Domar is currently the director of the Mind/Body
Center for Women's Health at Boston IVF, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,
Beth Israel Deaconess health Center. In addition, Dr. Domar is an assistant
professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive biology at Harvard Health
School.
Pepper
Schwartz, Ph.D.
Dr. Schwartz is a professor of sociology at the University of Washington in
Seattle. Dr. Schwartz lectures nationally and internationally on relationship
topics, women's issues, parent/child issues, personal and family well-being
in today's world, and communication between men and women in intimate and work
relationships.
M. Ellen Mahoney, M.D.,F.A.C.S.
Dr. Mahoney is a practicing breast surgeon in Arcata, California and a former member of the clinical faculty of the Department of Surgery at Stanford University. She is the co-founder of the Community Breast Health Project in Palo Alto, California and is currently at work on a book about long-term survivors.

Susan
Love, MD, one of the "founding mothers" of the
breast cancer advocacy movement. Dr. Love continues her work
by serving on the boards of the National Breast Cancer Coalition
and the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. Dr. Susan Love’s
Breast Book has been termed “the bible for women with breast
cancer” by The New York Times. Dr. Love lectures nationally
and internationally on breast cancer, menopause, and women’s
health.
Agenda
The
weekend conference offers a full agenda, including one-on-one
time with the LLuminari experts starting with an optional
Friday night reception, beginning again at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday
and completing at 11:30 a.m on Sunday. The keynote
address from Dr. Susan Love – will be ‘Beyond
the hype-what the new cancer treatments will mean to you’ .
Dr. Love will also lead a breakout session on ‘Understanding
Your Cancer.’ Other programs include ‘What
you can Do to prevent re-occurrence’ by Dr. Miriam
Nelson and also ‘How to fuel your body with diet, and
exercise.’ Dr. Alice Domar will teach attendees
how to ‘Self Nurture when you are Stressed.’ There
is also a program designed to help women understand
how chronic disease affects intimacy in relationships which
is being led by LLuminari expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz, one
of the country’s leading authorities on sex and relationships.
Attendees will be able to participate in a variety of exercise
with the expert’s options and a healthy cooking demonstration.
